The RN7 is Madagascar’s most iconic road trip, stretching from Antananarivo to Toliara, offering a remarkable diversity of landscapes and cultures.
Along the way, travelers pass through the lush greenery of Andasibe National Park , discovering the highlands and vibrant towns before reaching Ranomafana National Park, famous for its rich biodiversity, lemurs, and dense tropical vegetation. Further south, the scenery transforms dramatically into the sandstone canyons, natural pools, and wide open spaces of Isalo National Park, one of the country’s most spectacular landscapes.
From green hills to dry savannas, the RN7 offers a true cross-section of Madagascar—blending nature, wildlife, and cultural encounters into an unforgettable journey. (11 days - 11 nights)
Day 1 – Antananarivo → Antsirabe
Your journey begins in Antananarivo. Meet your guide and depart south along the famous RN7.
Enjoy a scenic drive through the Malagasy highlands: rice paddies, traditional villages, and rolling hills. Stop in Ambatolampy to visit a local aluminum workshop.
Arrive in Antsirabe, a charming colonial town known for its cool climate and artisanal crafts.

Day 2 – Antsirabe → Morondava
After breakfast, continue west toward Morondava.
The landscape gradually changes from highlands to dry plains. Pass through Miandrivazo, one of the hottest regions of Madagascar.
Arrival in Morondava in the late afternoon. Depending on timing, enjoy your first sunset at the iconic Avenue of the Baobabs.

Day 3 – Morondava (Relaxation & Baobabs)
Morning at leisure to relax by the Mozambique Channel or explore the town.
In the late afternoon, return to the Avenue of the Baobabs for a magical sunset—when the sky turns golden and silhouettes these majestic trees.
Optional visit to the Baobabs Amoureux (Lovers Baobabs).
Overnight in Morondava
Day 4 – Morondava → Bekopaka
Early departure for an adventurous journey to Bekopaka.
Drive through sandy tracks and cross rivers by ferry (Tsiribihina and Manambolo rivers). This is a full-day transfer offering a real immersion into remote Madagascar.
Arrival in Bekopaka, gateway to the Tsingy.
Overnight in Bekopaka
Day 5 – Discovery of Petit Tsingy
Visit the Petit Tsingy, a smaller but fascinating introduction to the limestone formations.
Enjoy an easy walk through sharp pinnacles, natural tunnels, and viewpoints overlooking the Manambolo River.
In the afternoon, optional visit to local villages or pirogue excursion along the river.
Overnight in Bekopaka
Day 6 – Exploration of Grand Tsingy
Full-day visit to the spectacular Grand Tsingy in Tsingy de Bemaraha National Park.
This is the highlight of the trip: a unique hike through a labyrinth of limestone needles. Walk on suspended bridges, climb viewpoints, and admire breathtaking panoramas.
The visit requires a moderate level of fitness but remains accessible with proper guidance and equipment.
Overnight in Bekopaka
Day 7 – Bekopaka → Morondava
Return journey to Morondava, crossing rivers and landscapes once again.
Stop at the Avenue of the Baobabs if not done earlier or for another unforgettable photo opportunity.
Arrival in Morondava in the late afternoon.

Day 8 – Morondava → Antananarivo
Transfer to the airport for your domestic flight back to Antananarivo.
